Professor Tse
received his BS, MS, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is the Director of Asia Center of Management Science and Engineering, which has chartered to develop Executive Programs and research affiliations for Asian enterprises, with a special focus in Greater China: China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

In 1973, Prof. Tse received the prestigious Donald Eckman Award from the American Automatic Control Council in recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of Automatic Control. He has served as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions of Automatic Control, and a co-editor of the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, which he co-founded. In recent years, he has dedicated his research in entrepreneurship and has developed theories endorsed by many executives. Over the years he has made valuable contributions to the field of engineering, economics, and high technology business creation and expansion. He has published over 130 papers.

He blends his research activities with real world applications. He co-founded Advanced Decision System (ADS), a consulting firm with important contributions in Artificial Intelligence. He has served on the Board of ADS from its inception until ADS was acquired by Booz Allen and Hamilton in 1991. He played a pivotal role in spinning off Verity based on a text retrieval technology developed by ADS. He had served as a Director on the Board of Verity until its initial public offering (IPO) in 1995. Verity remained a leader in the text-based search market. Professor Tse has served as technology and business consultant to various companies and government organizations in US. He also advises large US corporations on their business strategy development.

Professor Tse has developed many courses on competitive strategies for high technology business and high tech entrepreneurship based on a dynamic theory that combines Asian Philosophical wisdom with Western management practices. As the world is becoming more global, this theory provides building blocks for successful strategy development in emerging markets, corporate growth, latecomer in maturing markets, and corporate restructurings. The theory is supported by various cases across industries in the US, Europe, Japan, China, and Korea.

Since March 2003, he has been teaching ¡§Dynamic Corporate Strategy in Uncertain Business Environment¡¨ in several Chinese EMBA programs. Through the Asia Center of Management Science & Engineering, he has also developed an Executive Certificate Program jointly with the Enterprise Research Institute of Development Research Center of the State Council of PRC. This Certificate Program is specially designed for top executives in Chinese enterprises.
